Golden Community Choirs is based in Golden,
Colorado at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. We
have members who live in areas ranging from
Denver to Genesee Park and Arvada to Englewood.

Judy Denison is a long-time Golden resident who
is actively involved in our community in a
variety of ways. As one of the original founders
of the Golden Community Choirs, Judy has been
instrumental to our success. Judy manages our
membership roster, member volunteers, serves on
our board of directors and is the primary
contact for the entire organization.

David Bell has been an active artistic director
and conductor in Massachusetts and the Denver
area. David holds a Masters of Music from the
New England Conservatory with emphasis in

Judy Tisch has taught K-12 choral
programs and was Teacher of the Year at Oak
Creek Elementary School in Texas. She is a
graduate of Aquinas College in Grand Rapids,
Michigan. Her degree is Bachelor of Music with
majors in voice and organ. She also has graduate
studies from several universities. To

History |
The Golden Concert Choir was originally formed
as the Golden Chamber Choir in
October 2000. It was incorporated in 2002. The
director was
Carma Romano-LaMorte.
The
Children's Choir of
Golden was added in 2002, created and
directed by
Allison Olsson.
In the spring of 2003, the adult choir was
becoming too large to remain a chamber choir.
The name was officially changed to
Golden Concert Choir
to more accurately reflect the choir size and
type of pieces being performed. With the
resignation of Romano-LaMorte in 2006, Allison
Olsson was named Interim Director. Since 2007,
David Bell has been
the Concert Choir Director.
In September 2003 the Golden Chamber
Choir was granted 501(c)(3) status. In
the fall of 2004, the Golden Community
Choirs organization was registered.
Confluence was
added in 2007, as a small auditioned a cappella
group created and directed by Allison Olsson.
The Children’s Choir and the Training Choir were
suspended in 2009.
In June 2010 Confluence decided to become an
independent organization, no longer part of the
Golden Community Choirs.
The Children's Choir of Golden was reinstated
with new director
Judy Tisch in September, 2010.
